In celebration of the 79th Anniversary of Jambi City and the 624th Anniversary of the Land of Sector of Batuah, we at PT Regen Biotechnology Solusi Indonesia are proud to announce a significant milestone in waste management. We have officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Jambi City Government, marking the beginning of a transformative journey towards sustainable waste management.
This landmark agreement was signed during the Plenary Meeting of the Jambi City DPRD on May 28, 2025, and signifies our commitment to modernising waste processing at the Talang Gulo landfill. Regen Indonesia’s Director Rudi Hamka, emphasised that this partnership represents a real step towards innovative and sustainable waste management solutions. Also in attendance at the signing were Regen KL’s Managing and Financial Director, Dave Hoong and Operations Director, Chester Hoong, who are instrumental in driving this vision forward.
“At the heart of our initiative is the introduction of biodrying technology from our flagship brand, ALFIMER™. This cutting-edge technology utilises biological processes to efficiently dry waste, facilitating easier sorting and recycling.” As our Technology Director Albert Chin highlighted, this biodrying system will be the first of its kind in Indonesia, enabling us to convert waste into valuable resources.
The bio-dry machine is set to arrive in Jambi within the next 4–5 months, after which we will commence the treatment process to stabilise, eliminate odors and dry the waste before advancing to further processing stages. Our goal is to establish the Gulo Gulang Landfill as a modern waste processing center with Zero Waste targets over the next 5 years.
Mayor Dr. H. Maulana, MKM, envisions the RDF plant as a key component in processing up to 1,000 tons of waste daily, producing economically valuable products such as RDF Briket (an environmentally friendly alternative fuel), Garbage Maggots (for animal feed and aquaculture) and Plastic Seeds (raw materials for the recycling industry). This initiative not only addresses environmental challenges but also has the potential to generate significant regional income, estimated at up to Rp14 billion annually.
In addition to our technological advancements, the Jambi City Government is reforming the waste transport system by transitioning to a door-to-door collection method using motor carts (Germo). This ensures that waste is processed efficiently without accumulation at temporary dumps. Our community engagement through the Kampung Bahagia Programme further empowers local residents, providing each RT with Rp100 million for environmental waste management.
Through this comprehensive approach, we aim to create a sustainable solution that not only benefits the environment but also generates job opportunities and enhances community welfare. With the strategic partnership between PT Regen Biotechnology Solusi Indonesia and the Jambi City Government, along with the support of the community, Jambi is poised to become a pioneer in modern waste management in Indonesia.
At Regen, we believe that with the right technology and commitment, waste can be transformed from a burden into a valuable opportunity. Join us on this journey towards a cleaner, greener future for Jambi and beyond.
