Our neighbouring counterpart – PT Regen Bioteknologi Solusi Indonesia held the Alfimer Technology Showcase at the Talang Gulo Sanitary Landfill TPA in Jambi City, Indonesia on Thursday, November 27, 2025. The event featured a demonstration of a low-energy, non-combustion-based waste drying and processing system, which is claimed to be capable of transforming waste into economically valuable resources.

Heryadi Putra Chan, CEO of PT Regen Bioteknologi Solusi Indonesia, stated the showcase was held to directly demonstrate the process of transforming waste into new, reusable commodities.

“Today is our showcase event. Waste that was previously a burden, we are giving it a second chance to become an economically valuable resource through the Alfimer technology,” he said.

Heryadi explained that the Alfimer technology is capable of drying waste with minimal energy use without any combustion process. The system produces various derivative products such as compost, material recoverables, Refuse-Derived Fuel (RDF), and potentially liquid fuel in subsequent development stages.

He emphasised that waste management is a global issue that requires multi-party collaboration. Therefore, Regen is open to cooperation opportunities with various partners, including regional governments and the private sector.

“Our hope is that what we are starting here is not the end, but the beginning of a long journey,” he added.

International Collaboration and Research Interest

The showcase was attended by representatives from Tsinghua University, Qinglv Global, and
Shanghai Phelix Co. LTD, three prominent institutions in waste technology and material processing.

Tsinghua University, China’s top university and ranked 17th globally, was present to explore research collaboration. According to Heryadi, the minimal supply of waste-to-energy feedstock in China is leading researchers back to focus on recycling technology.

“They are interested in seeing how our technology is capable of converting wet and smelly waste into compost. This is an important requirement in global waste management,” he revealed.

Meanwhile, Qinglv Global, a provider of AI-based sorting machines, reviewed the characteristics of Indonesian waste while looking for opportunities to integrate its technology with the Alfimer system.

Shanghai Phelix Co. LTD, a pyrolysis company that converts plastic into liquid fuel, also attended to review potential cooperation. Regen hopes that the company can become both an investor and an off-taker (purchaser) of the separated plastic from the Jambi project.

“We want to ensure that the plastic we have separated has a clear off-taker,” said Heryadi.

PT Regen Bioteknologi Solusi Indonesia currently operates in Malaysia, Singapore, and Indonesia. Jambi marks the company’s inaugural project location in Indonesia.

“For Jambi itself, this is our first project in Indonesia. This is the start of a long journey,” Heryadi concluded.

Regen Group: Transforming Regional Waste Challenges into Global Solutions

At Regen Sdn Bhd (Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia) and PT Regen Bioteknologi Solusi Indonesia (Indonesia), we believe climate action demands more than policy—it requires practical, scalable, and proven solutions. Our commitment is to transform waste into value through cost-effective and sustainable biotechnology innovations.

By integrating 3E Nano-Technology, Microbiological Engineering, and Landfill Mining with Ecosystem-based Solutions – Advanced Landfill Mining with Material & Energy Recovery (A.L.F.I.M.E.R™) – we offer a low-energy, non-combustion alternative to landfill management.
Our successful showcase in Jambi proves the ALFIMER™ system can effectively convert challenging wet waste into high-value resources (Compost, RDF, Plastic and other Recoverables), unlocking new economic opportunities while drastically reducing environmental burdens.

We are ready to partner with governments and private contractors across the region — from supporting Malaysia’s and Indonesia’s transition towards a circular, low-carbon economy to pioneering sustainable waste transformation across Southeast Asia.
